Galarian starters and more announced for Pokémon Go “Go All Out” event

Niantic has just spilled the beans on a series of updates coming to Pokémon Go next month. After the announcement of the new season “MAX OUT”, the details of an event called “GO Big” have been shared.

The GO All Out event will take place between Tuesday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time and will see the release of five new Pokémon evolutionary lines: the Galarian starter trio of Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble, Dreepy, and Stonjourner (only available in the UK).

These Pokémon, as well as the previously-released Skwovet and Wooloo, will appear more frequently in the wild for the duration of the event. For the first time ever, lucky trainers will be able to encounter shiny Skwovet and Wooloo!

Additionally, the Galarian starters will be added to the 5km egg roster, with Dreepy joining the 10km eggs hatchlings and all so-far-released Galarian forms except for Mr Mime hatching from 7km during the event.

Lastly, a branching Special Research will be available where you’ll be able to choose a starter out of the Galar trio. Your choice will determine the background of your Postcard Book for the rest of the season!

The event is a part of a three-stage celebration: “GO All Out”, prominently featuring new Galar Pokémon, “GO Big”, revolving around the debut of Dynamax Pokémon, and “GO Wild”, yet to be announced.
